For a thousand years the last of the dragon warriors, called the toa kara, are hunted to near extinction on the planet Perim. An ancient dragon warrior named Zara flees the ravaged cities with his young son Talin and takes refuge among the farming communities of the Evann. There Talin grows to manhood. When raiding parties enter the Evann, Talin picks up the sword and wages war on the last of the old Deharr Barons. Can just a handful of sword-wielding warriors on horseback defend the people from the technologically superior forces of the Barons? Or will the toa kara be erased from existence?
